Why Beef Tallow?
If you’ve ever read the back of your lotion bottle or 10-step skincare routine, you know that most of these products have long lists of ingredients you can’t pronounce, and you have no clue what these ingredients do or where they even come from. Tallow is the purest type of fat that comes from the suet of cows. Our tallow is sourced from small sustainable farms that raise 100% grass fed and pasture raised cattle. It goes through a wet rendering process that removes odor and impurities to achieve a high quality, pure white, and cosmetic-grade tallow. It is very nutrient rich for the skin because it contains bioavailable vitamins and minerals like A, D, E, K, B12, CLA, stearic acid, oleic acid, and palmitic acid. These nutrients nourish the skin, moisturize, protect, and sooth inflammation and irritation from chronic skin conditions. Most lotions have polyunsaturated fats (PUFA’s) like sunflower oil and grapeseed oil which are high in omega 6 fatty acids that are inflammatory and cause oxidation, especially when the skin is burned.
